Learning to Make a Website- Intro
Alice started to her feet, for it flashed across her mind that she had never before seen a rabbit with either a waistcoat-pocket, or a watch to take out of it, and burning with curiosity, she ran across the field after it, and fortunately was just in time to see it pop down a large rabbit-hole under the hedge. In another moment down went Alice after it, never once considering how in the world she was to get out again.
This all started a couple of days ago, I was looking for something like that lost community of bloggers and personal websites from the late 90s - early 2000s. Before everyone moved their whole lives and data over to social media conglomerates, before every blog became a super ad-filled, monetized platform.
Where did it go?
I stumbled upon this article by Laura Kabal and was really intrigued. I like the idea of having my own little corner of the internet without ads or trackers. Something easy to set up and maintain and relatively cheap to host. A place to explore my ever changing interests and share what I’ve learned along the way.
So hello! Welcome to my blog. Today is the first day of it’s existence! As I go along and build it I will document the process so I don’t forget how it was made. I’ve never done this before so I can’t tell yet which direction it will go and it will probably change focus partway through as I follow different interests down their rabbit holes.
